|| PLOT || Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Stillwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses – and first kills. Stillwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. Part coming-of-age story, part supernatural horror story, “Dead of Summer” is a bold, new series that mixes genres as it examines the light and dark of a summer like no other.

Elizabeth Mitchell as Deb, the new owner of Camp Stillwater. Once a camper herself, Deb has her heart set on bringing back the magic of the summer camp she loved, but behind closed doors, she seems to value her control over the camp for a much darker reason. Deb presents a “warm and welcoming vibe” to mask her potentially dark reason for wanting control of the camp.
Elizabeth Lail as Amy, a clever but nervous camp counselor who is new to Camp Stillwater. Amy is not unfamiliar with being the new girl in social situations and the pitfalls that come with it, so she tries hard to fit in with the other counselors, and others reminisce about their past summers at camp, Amy is the first to discover clues that something disturbing is going on at Stillwater.
Alberto Frezza as Garrett Sykes, a young deputy who has ties to Camp Stillwater and who grows immediately suspicious when events at the camp don’t add up.
Eli Goree as Joel, an aspiring filmmaker who is returning to Camp Stillwater as a counselor and begins to buy into the idea that something weird is happening. (.
Amber Coney as Carolina “Cricket” Diaz, better known by her nickname “Cricket” because she likes to chirp, Carolina joins her old gang of camp friends as a counselor at Camp Stillwater.
Mark Indelicato as Blair Raymer, an openly gay, artsy and teasing new counselor (and longtime attendee) at Camp Stillwater, who’s thrilled to see his old friends and ready to get the party started.
Paulina Singer as Jessie Tyler, a stunningly hot but slightly conceited Stillwater vet returning as a new counselor — and with a new look and newfound confidence. (She won’t, however, be too fond of camp neophyte Amy.)
Ronen Rubinstein as Alex, a handsome, protective and brave counselor who’s described as the classic polo-shirt wearing “John Hughes Villain.” He may be a candidate for coolest guy at Stillwater, but he “wants to be friends with everyone,” especially Amy.
Zelda Williams as Drew, a camp counselor at Camp Stillwater who is a mysterious loner with no interest in bonding with the rest of the group.
Charles Mesure as Sheriff Heelan, a small-town sheriff who loves his peaceful community and is not pleased when things at the camp go awry.
Tony Todd as a counselor at Camp Stillwater who is a mysterious loner with no interest in bonding with the rest of the group.
Dylan Neal as Keith (Deb’s souldmate).

Alberto Frezza
  • Me: How’s working with Elizabeth Mitchell?
AF: Working with Elizabeth Mitchell has been an experience of a lifetime. Lost is one of my favourite TV shows and I spent hours watching her on TV. Elizabeth is a real professional, and since the first day she makes everyone feel at home. She’s sweet, very down to earth and sincere. She is a role model for any actor, also looking at her career and her values which I respect very much.
  • Q:What do you remember from your 1st day on set?

Amber Coney
  • There definitely feels like some of that LOST vibe carried over in the tone of the show. Would you say that Elizabeth Mitchell brings that aura of mystery from her work as Juliet on LOST to her character Deb Carpenter in DEAD OF SUMMER as well?
AMBER: I have actually not seen LOST, but I can say that Elizabeth does a fantastic job in bringing the right sense of mystery to her character. She is an astounding actress, so it’s no surprise to watch her nailing the role. [NEW]
  • Q: What are you reading?
Eleanor & Park <3 given to me by Elizabeth Mitchell actually!
