Born to immigrant Swedish parents in Minneapolis who raised her with their native language and made certain she maintained citizenship in both countries – Carine Strand boasts a warm, open personality that masks steel-trap intelligence and intensity lurking beneath the surface. After graduating from the Minneapolis Police Academy, Carine moved to Chicago, working twice as hard as her male counterparts to rise through the ranks to deputy superintendent of the Chicago PD. After her success drew the attention of the ICC and she was offered a prestigious job investigating war crimes, she made a name and a home for herself in Europe, crisscrossing between work in The Hague, Stockholm and Chicago. Now she finds herself on the verge of a new adventure – the leadership role of the newly reconstituted Cross Border Unit.

|| PLOT || Crossing Lines is a unique, global action/crime series that taps into the charter of the International Criminal Court (ICC), to mandate a special crime unit functioning as a European-based FBI, to investigate serialized crimes that cross over European borders and to hunt down and bring criminals to justice.
Season 3 picks up six months after the conclusion of Season 2. After one of his top prosecutors vanishes, Dorn (Donald Sutherland) must reactivate the ICC team as the group struggles to re-establish its battered identity. The third season will have a new emphasis on relevant and contemporary cross-border crime.
The unique action-packed global crime drama “Crossing Lines” is back for a third season. The series taps into the charter of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate cross-border crimes and ultimately bring global criminals to justice. “Crossing Lines” is set in the world’s most exotic locales, while the elite team of eager cops work to solve the most notorious international crimes.
After being disbanded, Michael Dorn’s cross-border Special Crime Unit is re-instated, tentatively, under tight probation and with protests from those who consider its mere existence dilutes their authority. But very soon even the most politically inflexible concede that if criminals can cross Europe’s border without hindrance, there should be at least one law enforcement group able to follow them.
The reinstated Special Crime Unit of the ICC welcomes new members, including rookie Ellie Delfont-Bogard, with an answer for everything even if it’s the wrong one, and seasoned campaigner Marco Constante, whose expertise in kidnapping and hostage negotiation has prepared him to identify how obvious crimes can cover secret ones.
In this new season the Special Crimes Unit confronts humanity on its worst days and its worst behavior, facing murder, corruption, vigilante justice, the risk of a blood-borne epidemic and even a radioactive catastrophe at the very heart of Europe. They must meet and defeat passion and revenge, politics and profit, terrorism and blackmail, while surviving the internal pressures generated by a talented group of experts. The team must work together, solving crimes simple and extraordinary while keeping their own private desires and demons mostly under control.
|| ABOUT THE SHOW || Crossing Lines is a European procedural crime television series created by Edward Allen Bernero (he left the show after the end of season 2) and Rola Bauer. Frank Spotnitz is joining as executive producer.
|| PLOT of the past seasons || Former New York Police Department officer Carl Hickman’s life has fallen apart after he was injured on the job; he has become addicted to morphine and works as a garbage collector at a carnival in the Netherlands. He is recruited to join the International Criminal Court’s special crime unit (a fictional unit). Based in The Hague, it investigates a variety of crimes that cross international boundaries. The unit includes an anti-organized crime covert specialist from Italy, a technical specialist from Germany, a crimes analyst from France, and a weapons specialist and tactical expert from Northern Ireland.

- What’s like to work with Goran Visnjic and Elizabeth Mitchell?
Tom Wlaschiha: It has been absolutely great. They are both legendary actors. I had worked with Goran a few years ago and they’re both great colleagues. It’s always nice if you have people on set with no egos and both of them are really amazing in that way.
