Elizabeth Mitchell’s Life Beyond “Lost” | Interview

elizabethmitchellmoremagscan.jpg“I jump off cliffs for every project I take.”

As an FBI agent on the ABC series V, Elizabeth Mitchell defends Earth against aliens. As a villain-turned-hero on Lost, which airs its final episode this month, she worked her way around a warped island by pointing guns at a lot of people. Sci-fi roles aside, she’s known for her turn as Angelina Jolie’s lover in the cult film Gia (“I get to kiss some of the most beautiful people,” she says.) Here, she dishes and tells.

To play a badass in V . . . I’m learning martial arts and sword work. I’ve got this massive stick I whip around my body. I feel like a ninja until I hit myself in the head.

If I could have a do-over . . . I probably wouldn’t have worked so soon after CJ [her now four-year-old son with comedian husband Chris Soldevilla] was born. But we were broke, so maybe not working would have been a really bad idea.

I’d like to act alongside . . . Gerard Butler—sincerely, for the hot factor.

I used to hate, but now I love . . . my skin. It was incredibly broken out. Now I’m thankful I had acne because it meant there was plenty of oil in there. It’s helping me with the whole “aging gracefully” thing.

A little-known secret about “Lost”? “The bras they had us wear were so comfortable you’d end up wearing them everywhere,” Elizabeth Mitchell says.

American Way’s Scans & Interview

Lost star Elizabeth Mitchell finds herself at home on the set of her newest project, V.

Though Elizabeth Mitchell has made notable appearances on television in the past — her sexy stint on ER and playing the famous titular character in The Linda McCartney Story, among them — she has become best known for her turns as creepy, calculating doctor Juliet Burke on J.J. Abrams’s megahit Lost and, most recently, as alien- fighting FBI Agent Erica Evans on the hit ABC reboot of V. The characters are so different — one is a duplicitous survivalist, the other a brave, noble freedom fighter — that one wonders how Mitchell was able to film both shows simultaneously without developing a split personality.

Elizabeth Mitchell Makes Triple-Duty Work for Her | Interview

I don’t know if you consider it spoilering, coz’ it doesn’t say anything about the story, but it sounds good and a put a smile on my face! 🙂

Elizabeth Mitchell says her friends are teasing her “that I’m taking all the jobs.”

Actually, it’s just two plum jobs — Dr. Juliet Burke on “Lost” and FBI agent Erica Evans on “V” — that have Mitchell flying high these days. The double-duty work might generate stress for someone else in her shoes, but she’s simply focusing on “the good stuff. They put me on a plane and pick me up. It’s quite a luxury, compared with taking the subway and having to walk for eight blocks.”

She notes, “I understand there are elements that make things complicated — having a four-year-old, not getting to see my husband as much as I want. But, I’m not a person to get caught up in stress. When things aren’t perfect, I just figure, ‘We’ll work it out.’”

Elizabeth works it out by taking son CJ with her on her series locations and spending off-time with the youngster and her actor/husband Chris Soldevilla at their get-away home on Bainbridge Island, Washington.

Interview with Liz | Juliet May Be Dead, But She’s Not Gone

This is another spoilering interview I guess. I haven’t finished to read it all. I gotta go out, but I’ll be back soon.

Poor Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell). As if falling into the Swan hatch and exploding the bomb wasn’t enough of a sendoff at the close of Lost‘s Season 5, she died in the final season opener in Sawyer’s arms — after a final kiss and a mysterious message. While fans are still mourning the loss of Dr. Burke, TVGuide.com jumped on the phone with Mitchell, who’s shooting ABC’s alien-invasion drama V in Vancouver. The 39-year-old actress says that Juliet may be dead, but Mitchell is returning to Hawaii soon as the show winds down. So who was Juliet asking to coffee? What does “it worked” mean?
