The Buried Girl: Curiosity

elizabeth mitchell the buried girlThis is just a curiosity about The Buried Girl: last April they filmed more scenes in Baltimore (which is where the movie is set, while they filmed the entire movie in the Poughkeepsie area during August 2017). They wrote new words for various characters including something for our Captain Hilman, so Liz had something new to shoot and that’s why the post-production took so long.

The movie will probably have a new title, at least they were thinking about that lately. We need to wait and see! 🙂

Info About “The Buried Girl”

elizabeth mitchell the buried girlUPDATE: We’ve just found out that ADR was completed and they finished the sound mix just a couple of weeks ago. We also know that they should have submitted this for the Sundance Film Festival last week. *Fingers crossed*

***

We found these two further descriptions of the plot of the movie Elizabeth filmed last summer:

– High school friends try to solve their friend’s disappearance

– When a high school girl goes missing, some of her friends attempt to solve her disappearance.

We put together some info about her character and this is was what we got:

Elizabeth plays Captain Hilman, involved in the disappearance investigation of Cassie, a well-liked senior girl of tough public high school in Baltimore County, attended also by her daughter, Emily (who should be a friend of Cassie).

From an interview with the actor who plays Art, Holly’s father (one of the two main characters of the movie), we know that Captain Hilman doesn’t like the man very much, probably because “he is not the best father and husband”.

New Movie: “Welcome to Pine Grove!”

We were checking IMDB for info about The Buried Girl and we noticed that the year has been removed (hopefully it’s just a mistake or something), but we also noticed a great news: Elizabeth will play Laura in the romantic comedy Welcome to Pine Grove!  directed by Michael Lembeck (Santa Clause movies’ director). They’re going to film it later this summer.

This is the plot:

http://elizabeth-mitchell.org/skin2017/WelcomeToPineGrove.jpgThe newest resident at the Pine Grove Senior Community quickly discovers it’s just like high school – full of cliques and flirts – but also chances to find friendship and love again.

“Welcome to Pine Grove!” follows Helen Wilson (Burstyn), an independent widow who moves into the Pine Grove Senior Community and discovers it’s just like high school, full of cliques and flirtatious suitors. Caan will play Dan Simpson, the hot new guy at Pine Grove and Burstyn’s love interest.

We are really dying to know what her role is about. The movie is about a senior community. So Laura could be a daughter of someone, or a doctor, or a nurse… what do you think?

And the movie has a great cast!

Elizabeth Mitchell … Laura
Christopher Lloyd … Arthur
Ann-Margret … Margot
James Caan  … Dan
Ellen Burstyn … Helen

This is an article we found on Variety.

Ellen Burstyn and James Caan are starring in the romantic comedy “Welcome to Pine Grove!” with shooting expected to begin later this summer.

The Buried Girl Actor About Elizabeth

The Buried Girl

Shannon Brown, one of the actor in the movie The Buried Girl, talked a little bit about the project, Elizabeth and her character.

This is an interview from February 2018, but we’ve just found it.

In 2017 you booked an amazing role in Ben Hickernell’s upcoming dramatic thriller, The Buried Girl, which also stars Oona Laurence (Southpaw, Pete’s Dragon) and Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, Revolution). What can you tell us about your character, Art?

Well, I can’t say too much about this character without dropping a spoiler, but I will say that he’s not exactly a good guy… not even sort of. Oona is the lead and I play her character’s father and I might not be the best father or husband, but I’ll leave it at that. I can also add that Elizabeth’s character doesn’t like him very much either.

This was a challenging role to play, but that’s what makes it that much more appealing as an actor. Working with such immense talent like Oona and Elizabeth made it that much more rewarding. It really is a powerful script and if you haven’t heard of Ben Hickernell, trust me… you will! He is definitely a legit talent and it was wonderful working with him as well. This is a powerful, dramatic and intense piece that deals with a very real and gut wrenching subject matter. I’m honored to be a part of it and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Christmas in August, lovelies! There’s a new pic of Liz on The Buried Girl set. She looks beautiful, isn’t she?! <3

This was posted by a producer of the movie who also wrote this:

ashah03: “It’s officially a picture wrap on THE BURIED GIRL!!! Had one of the most intense filming experiences of my life producing this movie. It was a grueling 18d but I really couldn’t have asked for a better crew and cast or a better area than Poughkeepsie to make this film!”
