Nice Mention

Elizabeth_Mitchell_Once_Upon_A_Time_Oct_22_set_003.jpgNatalie Abrams (EW) posted this nice comment about Elizabeth and a report from when she was on OUAT set. 😀

Q: Who are some of your all-time favorite stars?
A: Elizabeth Mitchell is definitely up there. She’s always been super kind to me.

Q: What is your favorite set to visit? Any funny stories?
A: Visiting the Once Upon a Time set has always felt very special. I’ve been up to the Vancouver-based set every season so far. I’ve been to Steveston, a.k.a Storybrooke, a few times. One particularly fun time was being there for the end of the Snow Queen storyline. Elizabeth Mitchell and I got out of transpo van and the fake snow started coming down. It was totally magical. But then it started raining and it was just wet and cold. Haha. I also went to the Lost set during the final season, which was a fun experience traveling out to Hawaii for the first time ever.

Georgina Haig about Elizabeth

Georgina Haig was at Awesome Con lately and someone mentioned that she and Elizabeth had a lot of chemistry and asked her about her favorite moments of working with her.
Merrijoy Vicente recorded the moment a little after she started talking about Liz and sent us the video. Georgina said really lovely things!
The audio is very low, so get the volume of your computer/phone real loud.
She said that Liz is so good that sometimes she got distracted (“Oh she’s so good!”) and  that the last scene, when Ingrid sacrificed herself, was very powerful to watch. Everything she said is SO TRUE! Watch the video:

The Snow Queen is really one of Liz’s best performances! So blessed she accepted the role and we got to see this extraordinary portrait! I would love to see her acting in front of me. Georgina is very lucky!
Thank you so much Marrijoy for the video!

Once Upon a Time Season 4 | Blu-ray Review

This is a lovely review about Liz’s performance on “Once Upon A Time”:

It’s not easy to invest a lot of emotion in the sisters’ plight, but thankfully we get Elizabeth Mitchell as the Snow Queen (more of a throwback to the Hans Christian Andersen original story as opposed to the Disney version). Mitchell is excellent as the crafty villain and her back-story, as seen in episodes like “The Snow Queen,” provides a season highlight.

NOTE: This photo is of the ABC “for your consideration” Emmy dvd box set with episodes of their shows. It’s great that they included 2 episodes of “OUAT” with a lot of Liz’s scenes (4×07 “The Snow Queen” and 4×10 “Shattered Sight”). 😉

MIPTV Part 7: Interview about Crossing Lines and OUAT

This is an interview Liz did at the table with various reporters at MIPTV. The interview was transcripted in French and we translated it in English. There’s no original version so the words are not the exact same words Liz said during the interview but you’ll get an idea.

Can you talk about your character?

Elizabeth Mitchell: “Carine (Strand) is an investigator for the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the first two episodes and at the end of the second episode she will be the leader of the group.”

The shows become more and more international, what about your work?

EM: “There is an appetite for more international shows. There is more room to make your voice heard. There is a desire to be global and tv reflects that. This is really exciting! I work with people from all around the world and I have never really experienced that before. On our set there are about 5 – 7 languages simultaneously. For me it’s fascinating! The places where we film and the people we work with are fascinating.”

Are there differences between filming a show in USA and Europe?

EM: “It becomes more and more the same. However, it is slightly different filming in Europe: they put more emphasis on the characters. There’s a bond between two worlds so that is nice for me. It is intriguing!
I think I would have never made “procedural” show because I would never have been so intrigued. My character is complicated and grim. Frank Spotnitz really took care of that aspect”

Performer of the Week: HONORABLE MENTION

Elizabeth got the honorable mention as the “Performer of the Week” by  TV LINE.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks she was the performer of the week each week she was on the show. Liz’s performance on Once Upon A Time was amazing! I’ve loved the Snow Queen so much and I know a lot of people are with me! 😉

Congrats Liz!!!!

Performer of the Week (A weekly feature in which we spotlight shining stars)

HONORABLE MENTION | Conceal, don’t feel? Not a chance. As Once Upon a Time‘s Snow Queen, Elizabeth Mitchell gave Storybrooke the cold shoulder for much or her stint, ultimately casting the Spell of Shattered Sight to bring out the very worst in these mostly good people. But when Ingrid was faced with proof that Gerda, the sister who epically scorned her, ultimately had a change of heart, Mitchell delivered a sweeping, emotional “death bed” performance. “All I wanted was to have my sisters’ love — and now I do,” she gushed, her “happy ending” in hand. Yep, in her final moments, Mitchell’s ice queen thoroughly melted us.
