WONDER WOMEN ELIZABETH MITCHELL (10).jpgWill Juliet return to to ‘Lost’?
After last season’s explosive “Lost” finale, fans were abuzz trying to figure out just what the heck that flash of light meant for everyone on the island.
The character most in jeopardy, was Elizabeth Mitchell’s Juliet, whom we last saw detonating a nuclear device. Mitchell was one of the panelists at Thursday’s “Entertainment Weekly: Wonder Women: Female Power Icons in Pop Culture” panel at Comic-Con, and her possible return to “Lost” was on everyone’s mind.
“It really depends,” Mitchell says. “I was talking to (producers) Damon (Lindeloff) and Carlton (Cuse), and they (told me), the best thing to say (here) is (that a return) depends on whether Jack’s plan [to prevent the crash from ever happening] works or not.”
Of course, Mitchell is a series regular on the new show “V” — which films in Vancouver — which could provide a wrinkle in any comeback plans since that’s quite a distance from Hawaii where “Lost” is shot. However, both shows air on ABC, so here’s hoping everyone plays nice and lets her appear on both shows.

Elizabeth Mitchell on Lost’s Juliet | Movieline Interview

There’s this thing about women named Juliet: They’re famous for meeting tragic ends. Elizabeth Mitchell’s character on Lost was no different — after finding unlikely love with Sawyer (Josh Holloway), she sacrificed herself to set off a crucial bomb — but luckily, Mitchell’s career has new life after that death. In addition to a mysterious number of additional episodes she’ll shoot for Lost’s final season, she’ll be seen later this year toplining ABC’s reboot of the alien miniseries V.
At Comic-Con, I talked to the actress about Juliet’s journey, the tumultuous period after she learned of her Lost fate (then had it somewhat revoked), and the alien-hunting yet to come.

Congratulations on the smooth transition between Lost and V.
I know! Who would have thought?

How did it go down? When you were told you’d be coming to an end as a regular on Lost, were you immediately offered V by ABC?
Basically, the two things happened within days of each other, which I was very surprised by. And, of course, the decisions were left to people more powerful than me. [Laughs]

Do you want Juliet to return for the final season of “Lost”?

Live From Comic-Con 2009: Girls Rule

Hello from muggy San Diego! For one of my first activities here at Comic-Con, I attended a panel led by Entertainment Weekly titled “Wonder Women: Female Power Icons in Pop Culture” and featuring Sigourney Weaver, Eliza Dushku, Zoe Saldana and Elizabeth Mitchell in the hot seats.

Elizabeth Mitchell talked about her role on Lost and getting better roles after the age of 30: Mitchell was predictably coy when answering any question about her role as Juliet on Lost, a role that the EW moderator called “morally slippery,” and “the most complicated female character that any woman has had to play on television.” Mitchell explained that she likes playing “complicated women, they’re enticing to me,” and that she was told by Lost producers to say that Juliet’s fate “just depends on whether Jack’s plan works or not.” When the issue of age came up, she emphatically stated that “I have played better roles now after the age of 30. . . . I was called sexy for the first time at the age of 38 and I was thrilled! . . . I think we’re allowed to be sexier, I think we’re allowed to be all of those things after the age of 30. That has, of course, been in television,” she added, acknowledging once again that opportunities for women in TV are greater than those in movies.

Elizabeth about Juliet at the Comic Con – Wonder Women’s Pannel

Elizabeth said that she talked to Damon and Carlton and they told her to say that her coming back on LOST depends on whether or not Jack’s plan works or not. She also said that it’s a cliff hanger, so…we have to wait and see.

Appearances > 2009 > Comic Con EW Panel Videos

Some lines from the pannel

G4T: The guy from EW just promised that Elizabeth Mitchell would tell us everything she knows about the last season of Lost! Oh noes, I think he was kidding.
G4T:  Now Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost.
EM: I’ll be back depending on whether or not Jack’s plan works or not.
G4T: At the end of Lost this season, Juliet’s fate was left up in the air, a cliffhanger if you will.
EM: There is somewhat of a fear of sexuality in our culture. I was a huge fan of Sci-Fi when I was younger and I loved what it could do for women. They could be vibrant and strong.
EM: I’ve been cast in my best roles after the age of 30. We’re allowed to be sexy as we get older.

Latest from TV GUIDE – Jughead Location

These are pics I took in Hawaii in mid-march right before the S5 finale was being filmed. I figued the stand was for the end of that season and was surprised to see it wasn’t used. It must be for S6 sometime- probably a flashback then. Anyways, the interesting thing about the stand was that the hole underneath it where the bomb must have been lowered was covered with a cap in the shape of a dharma logo! How did dharma get a hold of it? I’ve attached some pics.

Interview with Jack Bender

Jack Bender didn’t talk about Juliet, but he said something interesting in the last video. He said that the dialog from the Marina’s scene (we see in 5×04, 5×05, 5×11) is written differently for a specific reason. I think that is not the only th dialog written differently: also the one from This place is dead and LaFleur.

This place is dead:

Juliet: James, stop!James, stop!
Sawyer: Come on, help me.
Juliet: James, we can’t help him.

LaFleur:

Juliet: James, don’t!
Sawyer: Come on, help me!
Juliet: James, stop! We can’t help him.

Jack Bender thinks it’s very funny when people fall from very high places

I just want you to know what Damon said at Rome Fiction Festival. The question was if team Darlton has ever disagreed with Jack Bender. Damon said they disagree on the fact that Jack Bender thinks it’s very funny when people fall from very high places.
Damon didn’t want to spoil the finale (they haven’t aired it yet in Italy) so he said John Locke fell from a very high place. He (was having a lot of fun talking about this story) and Carlton think it’s not funny. So I think if they are not completely insane they’re making fun of us all. When Jack Bender said they killed Juliet some days ago,  it was part of their joke?! I think Jack Bender knows exactly what happened to Juliet and he had no intention to spoil the truth to us ruining the cliff hanger.
Anybody can draw their own conclusion from this. Are they completely sadist or will we see Juliet alive?
