Temporarily Nixed From Island Series, Elizabeth Mitchell Falls For New Sci-fi Role

I don’t consider it a spoiler, but if you didn’t see/read Elizabeth’s interviews at Comic Con, it might be spoilering for you. So don’t read any further.

‘Lost’ and found | By Amy Amatangelo – Thursday, August 27, 2009

Elizabeth Mitchell didn’t expect to fall in love again. At least not so soon.
Last spring, “Lost” executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse told Mitchell that her character, Juliet, would not be a part of the final season of ABC’s Emmy-winning series.

“I was really sad because I really like everyone so much and I love my role,” Mitchell said in an interview earlier this month at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, Calif. “I spent three years working very hard to create exactly what I wanted.”
But the Dallas native described herself as “fairly pragmatic.” She thanked Lindelof and Cuse for her time on the series, packed up her house in Hawaii, found a preschool for her son in Los Angeles and began reading scripts.

Spoilers (sort of) about Sawyer and Juliet

Nothing new, really, same stuff we heard at Comic Con, obviously it’s from Kristen. You might not wanna read it if you consider it a spoiler.

juliet lafleur lost hq (8).JPGKaren in Lewistown, Mont.: Any scoop on how Juliet will return to Lost? Besides what Elizabeth Mitchell herself teased, Josh Holloway hopes for a special Suliet reunion. “Maybe she’ll be this beautiful angel that appears and you can have this erotic scene,” he jokes. In all honestly, Josh doesn’t have a clue what’s going to happen with Juliet, but he does know how it affects Sawyer in the new season. “Now that he’s lost Juliet, I think the leader-hero thing is gone. I think he doesn’t give a s–t to be anyone’s leader at this point. He’s heartbroken. He’s back to ‘The world sucks’ and maybe throughout this season someone can redeem him again and bring him back from hell, because right now, he’s in hell.”

Dan in Orange, Calif.: Is there any hope for Sawyer next season on Lost
Do you mean, is there hope that the executive producers won’t kill Sawyer in the final season? Josh Holloway isn’t holding his breath on that one. Josh tells us, “Knowing Damon Lindelof, Sawyer must die. Maybe Carlton Cuse will soften. I always thought he should die. I think he should die because him and society is never going to work, so why go back?”

TCA | Visitors Among Us: The Cast and Crew of “V” Face the Press

V fans may want to hold onto their hats (or whatever else is nearby) as ABC announced that the series will now launch on Tuesday, November 3rd at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC rather than in midseason. (The news echoes comments made by executive producer Scott Peters to me at Comic-Con.)
ABC announced the change in scheduling at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour session for V, which featured cast members Elizabeth Mitchell, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Lourdes Benedicto, Morena Baccarin, and Scott Wolf and executive producers Scott Peters and Jeffrey Bell. Or rather the cast of the alien invasion drama announced it… in unison, no less.

‘Lost’ news: Did the bomb plan actually work? | Speculation

This is an article about some theories regarding LOST. There’re spoilers in it so if you don’t want to know, don’t click.

I probably don’t need to repeat that if you don’t want a morsel of scoop on the final season of “Lost,” then STOP READING NOW.

But if you do, here’s the latest from the jungle rumor mill…
You know that wacky plan to reset time by detonating a nuclear bomb? It may have actually WORKED.

Greg Grunberg, the “Heroes” star who played Oceanic 815’s pilot in the show’s first episode, recently told TV Guide that he’s been approached about returning to “Lost” next season.
He claims he doesn’t know anything more about the writers’ plans, but that if his “Heroes” bosses approves the time off, he’ll be headed back to the island.

Since the pilot was eaten by the smoke monster shortly after 815 crashed, Grunberg’s character would be yet another of the seemingly dead who are reportedly set to appear in the final episodes. (It’s been all but officially confirmed that at least Charlie, Shannon and Boone will be back, too. And dead or undead, Elizabeth Mitchell has verified that we’ll also be seeing Juliet.)

TCA | Lost’s Elizabeth Mitchell Fights Aliens in V Reboot

With sci-fi reboots all the rage, ABC is updating the 1984 miniseries V about an alien invasion of Earth.
In the show, which debuts Nov. 3, Lost star Elizabeth Mitchell will play an FBI agent trying to figure out what weird mysteries lie beneath the skin of the “Visitors,” aliens that have thrown earthlings for a loop by promising peace, love and understanding of advanced technologies.

“I really fell in love with this character,” said Mitchell at a Saturday press conference in Hollywood. “I like playing a traditional hero.”

TCA | “V” is for Visitor

The cast members of “V” jumped and laughed when they saw the special effects of “V” for the first time here. The remake of the ’80s sci-fi miniseries is due Nov. 3 on ABC. Elizabeth Mitchell, who plays an FBI agent in the piece, said she’ll return several times to Hawaii for “Lost,” so don’t think you know what happened when her character blew herself up with a bomb. “As in all things with ‘Lost,’ it will be a little tricky,” she said.

“V” trades in military, terrorist, religious and other metaphors. Executive producer Jeffrey Bell said the paranoia of our everyday orange alert means “We are a country very much fractured and struggling with all these issues.”
