Transcription of the Music Fashion Magazine’s interview

I made a transcription of the Music Fashion Magazine‘s interview.

I know you have been talking about this none stop recently, but let’s start off with V. What is in store for your character next season? I hear there are rumors of possible romance. Why would a romance be an important element to the show?
My character is more fun for me this year, more active… tougher. There is a little bit more humor, which I crave. Romance and passion are vital for life and television and with all the gorgeous people on the show to choose from, I can’t really lose. I do throw someone up against a wall… without the intention of killing them… yet.

How has the show changed and evolved since the beginning?
I really think the first season was a great set up for what we’re doing now. We had to create a world and set up lives. We did. Now we get to play.

411 Interview with Elizabeth

It might contains spoilers.

411’s Al Norton sits down for an exclusive interview with V star Elizabeth Mitchell to discuss tonight’s season finale, the best ways for fans to help get the show a third season, and working with Josh Holloway on Lost.
Elizabeth Mitchell first came to the public’s attention via the HBO movie Gia and her role on ER, and from then hit the bring screen The Santa Clause 2 and 3, but it was her role as Juliet on Lost that launched her to the next level, a performance that earned her an Emmy nomination during the show’s last season. She can currently be seen starring on ABC’s V, which airs its second season finale tonight at 9pm.

Al Norton: I was nervous about setting this interview up because we talked once before back in 2008 and the very next day the newspaper I was working for went out of business.

Elizabeth Mitchell: Oh no! I hope I’m not a jinx. I’m going to be good…something great is going to happen to you tomorrow, I promise.

SVU Still & Spoilers | Interview with Elizabeth

Elizabeth Mitchell Turns Evil on SVU

While her warrior-like V character is fighting to save her only child from evil lizards, Elizabeth Mitchell is also playing another role — one kiddies should fear. The beloved Lost alum guest stars on Law & Order: SVU on March 30 as June, a piano teacher accused of killing a little girl after raping her with a rolling pin. It’s pretty heavy stuff, which caused the real-life mom to take pause.

“I had certain things I was and wasn’t willing to do — you never actually see anything,” says Elizabeth, who played a different child killer on SVU back in 2003. “This is a hard one. You have to do your work, and then leave it behind before going home because it’s absolutely toxic.”

Things were much breezier off set, where Elizabeth’s 5-year-old, Christopher, made a new BFF in Mariska Hargitay’s son, August, 4. Says Elizabeth, “They got to play and it was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Lost No More

Elizabeth Mitchell’s star shines again in the new hit series, V.

“I worked a lot after classes, and one of my first parts was in Red Channels on stage. Then I got hired for a soap opera called Loving. But I got fired, because I sucked!”

Actress Elizabeth Mitchell was barely 6 years old when she discovered the Dallas Theater Center and fell in love with acting. Now 40, the actress—who is perhaps best known for her roles as Dr. Juliet Burke on the ABC hit series Lost, for which she has been nominated for several Emmys, and as FBI agent Erica Evans on the network’s popular and highly rated drama V, claims she was just “a dorky kid” when she left Los Angeles for Dallas. “I would finish school in Dallas where my mom was going to law school, and she would make sure I got right over to the Theater Center,” says Mitchell, who now lives in Seattle. “It was magic. I loved every second of being there and wanted to sleep on stage. I knew then I wanted to be an actress.”

EW Interview with Elizabeth

It contains spoilers!

Elizabeth Mitchell on the return of ‘V’: ‘If you were frustrated by the last season, which you probably were, I think that this will be far more satisfying.’

Elizabeth Mitchell knows that the V reboot had some problems in its first year. “The critique of the first season is right on,” she says. “There’s a quiet group of people talking around doing something? That’s not fun to watch! That will change.” EW caught up with the star on the eve of V‘s re-re-rebooted second season to talk about the changes made to the show, the difference between icky romance and strong-person romance, and the finer points of front-yard lightsaber fighting.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Going into the season premiere, what’s your short pitch to fans who were disappointed by the first season of V?
ELIZABETH MITCHELL: My short pitch is: You will not be bored. [laughs] My little-bit-longer pitch is: If you were frustrated by the last season, which you probably were — I was, a little bit — I think that this will be far more satisfying. There is far more action and there is far more of what you want in an alien-invasion story, where the aliens are out to use us as food and take our technology and do everything bad you can think about. There’s more of that wonderful thing of”Us-Against-Them” stuff, which is always so satisfying in a fictional sense. And also, there’s some good sexy stuff!
