EW Pop Culture Personality Test – Video Interview

This is amazing! I just can’t with her. One of the things I like about Liz is that she is a fan too, just like us. AWWW!

elizabeth mitchell interview

Even as Revolution wraps its first season tonight (NBC, 10 p.m. ET), Elizabeth Mitchell still can’t believe the reception to the show. “Stephen King loves Revolution. Who the heck does that happen to?” she says. “He came as a guest into the editing room, and I couldn’t believe it. I’m a huge fan of his. I’m always amazed at the people who watch what I’m doing.” She hopes he, like other viewers, will enjoy the season finale’s payoff. “I think it’s enormously gratifying,” she says. She starts to say more, then stops herself. We’ll let her off the spoiler hook this time because she was willing to reveal what TV show she thinks should be remade (it involves an island!), who she wrote a fan letter to when she was young, and what her most prized and geekiest pop culture possessions are in our latest EW Pop Culture Personality Test. Watch it below.

Genuine Beauty – Elizabeth Mitchell on Rachel Matheson

Once upon a time, if you Googled the words “geek goddess,” Elizabeth Mitchell was the first subject to pop up, thanks to a 2009 article in EW. The actress laughs about the phone call she received from her father telling her she wasn’t supposed to “let her freak flag fly,” but that’s exactly what’s so great about her: An Emmy nomination for Lost, a lead role on the short-lived V and a love of both comic books and Joss Whedon make her pretty freaking awesome.

AssignmentX Interview with Elizabeth about Revolution, Lost and V

This is an interview from TCA (January 2013) but they’ve just released that.

Elizabeth Mitchell fights the militia and Monroe

On NBC’s REVOLUTION, renewed for a second year and now coming to the end of its first season Monday nights at 10, electrical power has been gone from the world for fifteen years. In the series created by Eric Kripke, this means things are tough all over, but Elizabeth Mitchell’s character Rachel Matheson has had an especially hard time. Her family has believed her to be dead for over a decade, she’s just spent four years as a prisoner of would-be world conqueror Monroe (David Lyons), her son Danny (Graham Rogers) has been killed and she’s having a rocky relationship with daughter Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos).

In contrast, actress Mitchell – Juliet Burke on LOST, more recently human freedom fighter Erica Evans on V and Santa Claus’ spouse in THE SANTA CLAUSE 2 and 3 – says she’s having a blast enacting Rachel’s travails. At an event set up by ABC for the Television Critics Association, Mitchell, born in Los Angeles and raised in Texas, talks about playing an embattled woman in an era of crisis.

AX: Is there anything you do differently when you’re playing somebody who’s in a slightly altered world than somebody who’s in the reality that we’re living in now?

ELIZABETH MITCHELL: I try to always just be aware of what’s going on. I’m such a reactive actor – I just react to what’s around me. It’s an easy job for me if I have great people. I just listen and react. That’s pretty much my thing. So yeah, this world, it creates a completely different [environment] – you’re more protective of yourself, you’re more guarded.

Q&A with Revolution’s Elizabeth Mitchell by The Nature Conservancy

Remember the tweet posted by The Nature Conservancy? Now they published an interview with Elizabeth and Billy Burke. I don’t know why Liz’s Q&A is the smallest of all. 🙁 Anyway this’s her part:

Conservancy Talk: What’s your favorite movie set in nature?
Actor Elizabeth Mitchell:
Probably Enchanted April. The awakening of the land so beautifully mirrored the awakening of the characters.
Conservancy Talk: What’s your favorite energy-saving tip?
Elizabeth Mitchell
Read. Talk to the ones you love. Play board games and marbles by candlelight.
Conservancy Talk: Why is protecting the planet important to you?
Elizabeth Mitchell
It’s all we have. It’s our boat. It my son’s future. Our children’s future.
Conservancy Talk: What was your most memorable experience in nature?
Elizabeth Mitchell
I was on a walk with my son and a tiny owl landed right in front of us. Magical.

EW Interview: Elizabeth Mitchell teases tonight’s episode

‘Revolution’: Elizabeth Mitchell teases tonight’s episode (and the answers that are coming)

Tonight’s episode of NBC’s Revolution is an important one for fans who’ve been wondering what Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) cut out of her dead son Danny’s body. “That scene was horrible,” Mitchell says, looking book on filming the twist. “The thing about acting is that most of it is reacting. You have people in the room. In this case, there’s this kid. I was crazy about him. He hung out with my son. We were always together. So there’s this kid, and he’s dead in front of you, and you’re taking out a capsule. It’s one of the worst things you could imagine. But as far as that piece of technology goes, it’s such a great mystery. We explain exactly what that thing was in tonight’s episode and why it’s so important to all of us.”
