Lost | Kitis And Horowitz About Juliet’s Evolution

Part of “Old Info And News”

season 3 photoshoot puple tshirt elizabeth mitchell.jpgCo-executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz reveal: It was exciting to show [Juliet’s] backstory. What you see on this island is a very strong woman, and in her backstory she was a little timid and was getting bullied — so you see the evolution of her character from that.

IGN Interviews With Lost Cast And Creators At TCA

Part of “Old Info And News”

ABC TCA Winter Press Tour Elizabeth Mitchell (3).jpgRunning for nearly two weeks straight, the TCA (Television Critics Association) winter press tour is a major endeavor, where nearly all the biggest channels — from the broadcast networks to popular cable stations — have presentations and panels discussing their upcoming programming, including new and returning series.

This weekend saw one of the most eagerly awaited panels of the entire TCA press tour, as the producers and cast of Lost took the stage. The panel included Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond), Emilie de Ravin (Claire), Michael Emerson (Ben), Matthew Fox (Jack), Jorge Garcia (Hurley), Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Daniel Dae Kim (Jin), Yunjin Kim (Sun), Evangeline Lilly (Kate), Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet), Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) and executive producers Damon Lindelof, Jack Bender and Carlton Cuse. Terry O’Quinn (Locke) and Naveen Andrews (Sayid) were unable to attend because they were filming scenes for the show, though the producers pointed out this was the largest gathering of cast members the Hawaii set production had managed to bring together in Los Angeles in quite some time.

Robin Weigert Plays Juliet’s Sister – Damon About Juliet

Part of “Old Info And News”

3x07 Not In Portland Elizabeth Mitchell (13).jpgWhen the show returns from its winter break Feb. 7, the story line of Jack, Kate and Sawyer versus Juliet and Benjamin of the menacing and mysterious Others, which occupied most of the first six episodes of Season 3, will wrap up, the producers said. That news pleased McPherson, who said earlier in the day that he missed seeing the extended “Lost” cast in Season 3’s first half-dozen episodes.

Robin Weigert, a.k.a. Calamity Jane on “Deadwood,” plays Juliet’s sister in episode 307, and she will be back later in the season.

It sounds as though Juliet and Ben will be around for a while. More on that from Lindelof: “I think it’s safe to say that we will see the last of Alcatraz Island [where Jack, Sawyer and Kate were held] by around the ninth episode of Season 3. Then we’ll be shaking things up a bit. … I love Ben and Juliet, I think they are the face of the Others right now, they are fascinating characters that we still have many stories to tell. I would not fear their death any time soon. Although a lot of people hate them and want them to die.”

Lost | Michael Emerson About Juliet And Ben’s Relationship

Part of “Old Info And News”

3x01 A Tale of Two Cities Elizabeth Mitchell (13).jpgNew, powerful characters also will be introduced, and “there will be a struggle for power within the Others’ community.” Then he paused and smiled. “I have to be cagey about what I say.”

Ben’s relationship with Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) is admittedly “sketchy,” with evidence that he might have some romantic feelings for her that are not reciprocated.

Damon Lindelof About Juliet

Part of “Old Info And News”

EW – December 1, 2006 Issue

Is mutinous Others doc Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) a friend to the castaways – or a foe?

“Her agenda is more in line with the castaways’ than we originally suspected, but that does not mean she is not sinister,” says Lindelof. FYI, the Feb. 7 episode is all about Juliet.

Carrie – The favorite book of Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell), the melancholy Other. Explains exec producer Damon Lindelof, “What fascinated us about Carrie was that her religious mother could believe that Christ performed miracles, yet when her daugher demostrates miraculous abilities, she deems that satanic.”

EW Interview With Elizabeth About Lost And Her Career

Part of “Old Info And News”

October 27, 2006

season 3 photoshoot blue tshirt elizabeth mitchell (4).jpgSpotlight: Elizabeth Mitchell
By Dan Snierson

On a remote Hawaiian beachscape where turquoise waves slither up tan sands, Josh Holloway (Sawyer), Evangeline Lilly (Kate), and several others (including Others) are filming a whopper of a scene for a February episode of Lost. Spotting this reporter through the trees, Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet) scoots over, embraces him warmly, and starts gushing about the previous night’s charmed seashore interview: ”Wasn’t it a gorgeous evening? The way the sky lit up at sunset, the couple getting married, the shooting star…’‘ Uh-oh, she’s being summoned. ”Well,” she says, cheerfully excusing herself, ”I’m going to go shoot someone.”

Cameras rolling, she expertly wields a Sig Sauer and pumps two bullets into someone shocking; the still-standing are left gasping as she coldly lowers the gun. After multiple takes, Mitchell hurries back to apologize for the interruption. Asked how she goes from delightful to frightful like that!, she smiles and shrugs: ”You can be nice and be a badass, you know?”

USA Today Review | Interview with Cuse And Fox About Juliet

Part of “Old Info And News”

season 3 photoshoot puple tshirt elizabeth mitchell (3).jpgBut the love triangle that launched almost right from the series debut soon will crumble when Kate chooses between Sawyer and Jack, and Jack meets the mysterious Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell).

Like so much on Lost, the newcomer’s name is no coincidence. Shakespeare’s Juliet, one of literature’s greatest romantic figures, fell in love with a handsome member of an opposing clan.

Already conceptualizing a long run for Juliet, Cuse says, “It will be really compelling when we get her first flashback story and find out who she was off the island.”

Though Fox acknowledges Jack still has feelings for both Kate (“on some deep level”) and ex-wife Sarah (“you’ll see that unresolved stuff with Sarah put to bed”), he is looking forward to seeing whether Jack and Juliet evolve into a great love story.

“The circumstances in which these two people meet are far from romantic,” he says. “But what she brings into Jack’s world creates an interesting vibration.”

Damon Lindelof Mentioning Elizabeth

Part of “Old Info And News”

season 3 photoshoot puple tshirt elizabeth mitchell (6).jpgRECURRING/REGULAR

JG: We have three new characters, according to the media. Will they be regular or recurring new characters?
DL: Elizabeth Mitchell is a regular, and both Rodrigo and Kiele are recurs. But, as with all our recurs, there is always the potential for regularity.
JG: Upgrading.
DL: Yes. You have to make room.
JG: By killing other–aww, you’re so cruel.
DL: There’s more than one way off the Island. It’s not just death.
JG: Sometimes you get a boat on the right heading, and you get lucky.
DL: Sometimes you kill a couple women, and you get rewarded for that.
JG: Life’s not fair. That’s the moral of your show.
DL: You can say that again.
